NEWS SUMMARIES

SIPA has many members who have suffered financial loss. An initial reaction is often that of feeling alone and helpless as to what to do next. The first step is to become more familiar with what has happened in the industry so that you realize you are not alone. Many investors have suffered significant financial loss while they trusted their advisors to look after their investments. Many investors who have lost smaller amounts or simply not had the gains they should have had because their accounts have been used by unscrupulous brokers to trade excessively or use leverage to provide more assets to generate commissions.

These news summaries are provided to enable investors to quickly review a particular situation which may have an effect on them. These summaries are not comprehensive and investors should do their own research for additional information. Some of the articles are reprinted under News Articles in this website while others are available in SIPA's Archives

Reference libraries may retain publications going back many years, and may provide a computer search service to assist you with researching a particular topic or company. Many media sources provide search facilities on the internet. Some of them provide a free service while others provide a fee for service search  capability.
